Lifelong split finger, glove shooter here. I've had some stuff going on the last few years that have forced me to make changes in poundage (lower). Now an old wrist injury (avulsion fracture) is really interfering with me being able to use a glove with much success. I've never had much luck when it comes to tabs. I'm wondering if a wrist strap tab with the strike would help with my problem. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Most get along with the strike, and a wrist strap real good. There's some learning curve to them, and there's been a couple folks who've had a hard time getting through that.
I can tell you this - going 3-under with the strike wrist strap tab is way easier to get used to than with the split finger, and since you would already be making a big change, I suggest going to 3-under as well.
Now, I'm going to cost myself a sale.
The strike wrist strap tabs "do not" take all the load off the fingers. They take a lot of it off, and definitely make it easier & more comfortable to shoot. But, from the sound of your injuries, I recommend you go to a full on release. A rope style release works just fine, but if I were to do it I would go with a caliper style, and a D-Loop on the string.

I'll mull that over Rick, I have some "OLD" rope releases from my early days, as well as several caliper releases that I have been forced to use with a compound recently. Which, by the way, helps quite a bit with the pain in my wrist! If my brain will cooperate, I'll give the tab another try with an even lower pound bow and see if I can get past the mental aspect. I have no problem drawing my hunting bows, 50-53 lbs, I just cannot hold at full draw and have started snap shooting. When I go down to 40-42 lbs, I can shoot just fine....4 or 5 times. If I can shoot the lower pound bows with a tab, I'll try the wrist strap with a strike, heck you never can tell. I will say, I have tried 3 under and I don't think I could master it. Too old and long in the tooth to change...HA!

I switched to a 3 under tab many years ago after losing part of my fingertip on the ring finger. It took awhile to get used to it, but it was worth it.

Archery is a sport of habits. The reason you 'didn't have much luck when it comes to tabs' is because you're a life long, split finger glove shooter.
When you get things straightened out, shoot both through a chrono. I get about 3 feet on average faster with a tap. People buy carbon limbed bows for 5 to 8 FPS.
