I've started using "Double Bubble". It's sticky as, well it's sticky as bubble gum, and only good for one shot, BUT it works. (Not recommended for denture wearers)

You chew it up real good, bite it in half, then place each half in the silencer position of each end of the string by just squeezing, and rolling it around the string. Occasionally, the pieces will stick to the bow limbs, and you can just peel them off, wet them by chewing, and slobbering on them some, then roll them back in place on the string. But, just in case the pieces don't stick, you should always have another piece of the gum in your mouth, and chewed up, so you are ready to install it for the next shot. Here's an off topic hint - Use apple flavored Double Bubble.
