Put out a pig pipe on my place a few days ago. They just started hitting it last night, but they are REALLY hitting it.
Only problem is, I'm not sure what time, but betting on after midnight, and before daylight.
Need to put a camera on it.

Just ordered a long range (1000 ft) audio/video baby monitor with two cameras, and night vision. Them piggies are in some serious trouble.

I just saw your thread on LW. On my first trip to south Texas with some friends, the ranch owner had one of those except it was a 55 gal plastic barrel. The ranch is a cattle operation and he only allows bowhunting. He told us how he messed one barrel up and had to get rid of it, or rather just remove it. A regular client had mailed him some "pig attractant" to mix with the corn in the barrel. The "attractant" turned out to be no more than high dollar "pre sweetened Kool aid" and turned the corn into sweet feed. The cows wouldn't leave the barrel alone and no amount of water got rid of the sweet smell.

I pulled one of the three lights off my gravity feeder, and moved it down to the pig pipe. I also rebrush in my blind.
Looking back to the blind from the pipe.
Approach to the blind entrance.
Inside the blind.

I got my baby monitors in yesterday, and tested the range on them this morning.
I left the cameras turned on and setting in the floor in the house, and took the monitor out with me.
I had good camera signal right up to the west side of my pond, then lost it. That's about 75 yards short of reaching the pig pipe.
But, I think with the cameras mounted reasonably high at their outside stations, that I should be able to get their signal in the house. If not I'm fairly certain I'll get it if standing out on the back porch. We'll know soon.

Got one baby monitor camera up at the big feeder down behind the house.
Works great. Now I just need to see how long the batteries last. If they don't last long enough, I'll put a solar backup on it.

This is a picture I took of the live feed on the monitor. The monitor quality is way better/ crystal clear.

I'm going to have to put 6 volt battery backup with solar chargers on the cameras.
They drain even the lithium ultra AA's in about 36 hours.

The pig pipe lights are going to have to go on hold for a short while.
All my extra cash is going into building me a really good all wood bow blind for the farm.
The popup blinds are just way to expensive for a good one suitable for trad bows, and they don't last long enough to justify the expense.
The blind I am building will be 1000 times better than a popup, at only 2/3rds the cost, and will probably last me the rest of my life.
The pigs haven't come to the pipe here at the house for a while now, but they are really hitting the one over at the farm.

In my hunting group Im the only trad bowhunter. The next serious bowhunter has had to go to a crossbow so none of his blinds work for me. As you stated, pop up blinds don't last and I've been thinking of building one to replace the one I have. I would like some idea of your floor plan. One thing I want to add to mine is a little roof eave to shade the netting from sun glare. Also thought about 6 sided, taking the front corners of 4 sided and turning those into small sides with small windows. Those corners on my current blind are blind spots.

My floor plan is a 4 ft sided hexagon. I'm also not going to bother with making it shorter. Leaving it a full 8 ft tall. It's huge. There will be plenty of room for two hunters if/when the need arises, which it will, because I take my grandkids as often as I can, and we will have enough room to even comfortably stay the night in it if we want to.

I had a friend that made his big enough for me to do jumping jacks, had a recliner in and a couple of plastic totes containing blankets, sleeping bags etc. Spoiled me.

My wife's kinfolk grew up around Marble Falls, they would fill the big glass coke bottles with corn and hunt over them. Not exactly a pig pipe, but it worked in a similar fashion. What's funny is, you could hear the deer smacking that glass bottle with their hooves from quite a distance!
