Today, while gathering up wood, and dragging it to the house to be cut for firewood, I picked up a big dead log.
That log was hollow, and almost immediately after shouldering it, I noticed a couple of Brown Recluse spiders crawling on my arms.
Of course, I quickly chunked the log to the ground, and brushed the spiders off me. The log split when it hit the ground, and there was a wad of them little devils inside of it the size of a 5 gallon bucket. I've still got goose bumps, and that was a couple of hours ago. LOL

Brings back memories of my stepmom's flower beds. Guess who had to maintain them.

I dont much care for spiders, but a few years back I caught a black widow on the front patio and put it in a jar. Called her Matilda (cause when I first saw her I was waltzing around looking for a pistol to shoot her with) and fed her flies. This went on for quite a spell, up until my son saw her and put an end to her with his pistol. I guess he suffers from arachnophobia as much as I.
But having that aliment dosent mean I wouldnt try one of their bows.

"Spiders, we don't like each other" - a quote from an old timer I know.
For me, the spider web getting on my head freaks me out a little and triggers some dance moves. It's their relative the tick that gets me going, and it's usually at 3 in the morning when you feel it on you moving around. When I first visited my brother in Texas years ago, everyone who had never been there, including myself, was freaked out by the giant spiders that made giant webs the size of bed sheets overnight.

True story. 30 years ago...NE Texas full moon, bright enough to walk to my morning stand without any artificial light. This was a hardwood bottom with a live creek running through it. I was waving an arrow in front of me to clear the huge Orb spider webs out of the way as I walked very slowly. Well, I guess you can't get them all. I had walked about 1/2 mile in when I felt this big 'ol Orb spider crawl off my cap right down my temple onto my jaw. What happen next is still kind of a fog. What I do know is, I screamed like a 10 year old girl and had to wait until daylight to find all my stuff. My bow, arrows, cap, jacket and pack were scattered in a 30 yard circle. Didn't see anything that morning, I'm guessing everything within two miles knew exactly where I was. I hate spiders.
