Last year I acquired a pair of MAX 6 longs. I've sent them to Brandon and he refinished them - asked him to measure them at 28" and they came in #49@28" on 17" riser. I used them before the refinish on 19" riser and I can say that MAX6 are not THAT sensitive at DL as Borders. But since I want to get the best from them I was looking for a 15" riser - wood. I found the ILF option of the Black Hunter riser and since I had the bow I went for it. The riser itself is very decent and an upgrade compared with the BH since it is not that bulbous as the original. I mounted the MAX 6 on it and they are looking good, shooting good and I get all the benefits from the Longs. For me it feels more like HEX6.5 and right below the HEX7.5 performance wise. The limbs on this 15" riser are #49@28" - tiller bolts in - and even if it a 58" AMO bow it doesn't stack up to 32" DL. This Bastard bow as I call it is one of the easiest to shoot short bows I have. Long limbs on the short riser make it a very sweet shooter. I have Borders HEX5, HEX6, HEX 6.5, HEX7.5 and MAX6 now. These MAX 6 make the 58" bow 3" shorter than my Kodiak T/D A riser and #1 limbs when it is braced.

Been wondering about those SS limbs. I have tried dropping bow weight and not happy with my shooting past 20 yards or finding arrows that tune well. Not young enough to start all over again finding my “sight picture “. I have shot Borders and like the draw cycle. I believe the reason I am on the fence is I was present when a limb let go on my friends bow. Snapped in half. I realize this isn’t an everyday event but it sticks in my memory.

A Samick Extreme BF - the most praised limbs on the internet - broke on me at full draw (actually delaminated) In 2022 Olympics Hoyt Velos delaminated during the competition and the archer lost his match. The problem is not that limbs are breaking - all are we just don't know all - but how much will take to find the money for them if they break.

I decided to move the MAx6 on my Dryad 19". And it was the best move since the limbs are working perfect for me. My two Dryad 19" risers, one with the MAX6 longs and one with Dryad longbow longs.
