The wait ended and today I received the 19" riser from Border. I am really impressed with it and quality is great! The limbs are #52@28" on 25" riser and they are set now #57@28". The bow feels great, 2.9 lbs in total weight. Triple carbon Shedua riser. PS Communication with Sid and Ann was great and the riser was done inside the 3 months wait. The shipping from UK here was super quick - 5 days. The shipping time from US to Canada is 7 day and more. Figure this out!

I decided to switch limbs as follows: 19” Satori gets the HEX 7.5 - set #57 otf 19” Border gets the HEX 6 - set #55 otf 17” Tempest gets the HEX 6.5 - set #64 otf I didn’t have time to test the speed but interesting fact: - The arrow tuned for the #55 otf is a tuned arrow for my #61 otf Black Wolf. This is saying something about the SC vs upper tire of conventional design limbs. To make the Satori side plate work with the usual “arrow aligned with the string” way of tuning for SC I sanded down the side plate. It works like a charm without having to replace or change the look of the riser.

It is raining on and off, but I still had the time to go in the woods. This time I went with two of them: - 19" Border + HEX 6 - set #54.7@28" - 17" Border Tempest + HEX 7.5 - set 54.3@28" Comparing one against another, the HEX 7.5 limbs have more "hummm" than the HEX6 after the arrow left the string and speed wise the difference is not much: 3-4 fps with same arrows. I decided for the HEX7.5 to use the 300 spine arrows with 200gr fieldpoint+50gr half outsert for a 580gr arrow. It flies great and hits like a train. The rig itself looks slick too.

In the end I've got another Border triple carbon wood riser - shedua - 17" this time for the HEX 6.5 longs and the combo feels fantastic. Both bows are 62" AMO. PS This one is set #64@28” and the 250 Widowmaker Smash - 790gr total - are perfect match

The arrow I decided to use is the Black Eagle Renegade. It has the benefit of 300 and 250 spine, smaller diameter but has half-outsert which are much better than outserts the Widowmaker Smash has. Cut to 30 1/4” ctc, with 50gr half-outsert and 200gr the arrow has a total of 580gr. 180fps from the bow set at #53@28” to get the same gap for distances between 10 to 30 yards is my go to arrow. Being affordable is a plus too
They are 32.5" uncut.

I went out with my 17" Border Heritage Midnight and HEX7.5 mediums set to #58 OTF. I received the Renegades 250 spine: CtC 30.25" with 150gr fieldpoint and 55gr half-outserts flies perfect - total arrow is 555gr. It is interesting to have a very similar handle at 17" as the one I have on 19" riser. Border did their research very well and their geometry suits me like a glove. It's not "another" riser, it is the same for me.

That the way the 19", and 21" JC-Optimus risers are for me. I can't feel, or shoot any difference in them at all.
P.S. I may have to go to .250 spine shafts to get arrows to shoot properly from these Border limbs. I've cut these .300's down as far as I can go, and they still fly a tad weak.

I was thinking the same thing about your rig. Or even a 200 spine and keep it full length + the same 300gr on the top you use.

I was thinking the same thing about your rig. Or even a 200 spine and keep it full length + the same 300gr on the top you use. I'm only 219 gr on the front end. 175 gr points, plus the 44 gr outsert.

Oh OK. I was under impression you were at 300gr Only for a very short while, and that was due to the Jerry Hill broadheads weighing 195 gr, which put me right at 280 with the adapter, and the outsert. No way I can use those on these Borders. They flew very weak even on those bigfoot limbs, but I was able to make them shoot sufficient for hunting.
I'm back to using my 175 gr VPA 3-blade heads now, and will hold the JH's in reserve for wood arrows from my longbows.

I went with my both Border rigs and did a sound test at 20 yards 1 Border HEX 6 - 19” riser + meds for a 62” bow. Arrow 300 spine for a total 578gr , bow set to #54 otf 2 Border HEX 7.5 - 17” riser + meds for a 60” bow. Arrow 250 spine for a total 580gr , bow set to #58 otf
My phone is at 20 yards, target at 30 yards. The more I shoot the 7.5, the more I like them.

I found another set of HEX 6.5, this time mediums, #53@28” on 25” riser. The HEX 7.5 I have are #52@28" on 25" riser. I mounted the HEX 6.5 on the Tempest 17" and the HEX 7.5 on the 17" Border triplecarbon and both are set #58 OTF Both are tuned for the same 250 spine arrow with 250 up front for 580gr.

A small correction for above. To bareshaft at 30m the HEX7.5 ended #57 OTF and #58 for HEX6.5
