Ric I can no longer find your video on the whip tie knocking point on you tube. Could you please post a link or the entire video? I'm kind of lost without it. Also do you still make strings and how would I order one?

I found Mr. Barbee's whip tie video several months or more back and use it on all my bow strings and I tie my rubber leg silencers with it as well. Looks and works great. I use a small piece of carbon arrow (cut from a broken arrow) to run the string back through/under at the end. I'll be saving the link for other helpful videos.

QQ: can you recommend a source for the Diamondback cordage you’re using?

QQ: can you recommend a source for the Diamondback cordage you’re using? Diamondback serving was a Brownell product, so I guess it's long gone now since they went out of business. You don't have to use that thought. I am currently using crochet thread, and it works just fine.

Earlier today, I had an inspiration to use a little B 55,… And then I realized that it’s probably hard to glue that stuff in place on account of the waxing us of it. So I guess it’s off to the craft store for some crochet thread, maybe?
Somewhere around here though… I have some Kevlar line that used to be the control line for a stunt kite… That stuff was actually braided, and it worked very well for me for a very long time on one of my other Bose rings… So maybe I will perform a deep dive and see if I can locate that stuff…

What size crochet thread do you use No clue. I just look at it, and grab some that looks about right. It's close to the same as #4 nylon serving.

Just wondering...Do you think left over or old braided fishing line will work the same as archery style serving line(s) to tie whip knots? The old fishing line should have the coating worn off. I do need to tie on a nock and some rubber leg silencers on a new string, so maybe I'll experiment.

I'd never thought of using it, so thanks for the idea. Next time I head into town I'll be going to Academy Sports, and see what they have.

I've been researching the fishing line for some surf fishing, and it looks like 20# braid will be around .25mm. But is should all be marked with the size.

I tied a nock point on today, instead of using a pencil and trying to hold it there I took a short PC. Of vinyl tubing split it on one side and slipped it over the string then wrapped the nock point over the tubing then slid tubing up and out of the way and then finished it off. Seems a little easier that way for me. Thanks for the great video.
