I'm weary of blinds, stands, and feeders. Tomorrow starts ghillie suit go time. Already got a well traveled pig & deer trail picked out with a nice natural hide for the ghillie wearing.

I didn't hunt this morning, but went in at 1:30 this after noon, and stayed until dark. Had animals all around me the whole time up until 505 P.M.
Could have shot some small doe, or a couple of small bucks early, but was holding off for some of the bigger ones I was seeing. They were getting closer all the time.
Could have shot any one of probably 100 different animals with a rifle, but LOL I was bow hunting. Deer, pigs, turkey, and even a couple of coyotes.
At 505 I had some unexpected vehicle traffic drove into where I was at, and ran everything off. Nothing returned to view until right at dark, and by then it was to late to wait them out.
Oh well. Win Some / Lose Some. It was "at least", an eventful afternoon/evening.

I can't wrap my head with the idea of ghillie and shooting a bow. It's great when using a gun, but what are you doing with the sleeves?

I can't wrap my head with the idea of ghillie and shooting a bow. It's great when using a gun, but what are you doing with the sleeves? I removed all of the jute from the inside of the bow arm sleeve, and removed a little from the bow side chest area.
I don't have any problem shooting with it on, and the concealment is just as good with that jute removed as it is with it all in place.

I have a gillie that is made from synthetic material it might lay flatter then jute. I did very little trimming to the arm area and wear an arm guard. It's the only time I wear a guard, works well for me.

Did anybody shoot a deer or hog while wearing their ghillie?

Did anybody shoot a deer or hog while wearing their ghillie? I haven't killed anything this season. Worst season of my life, but in the past I have killed lots of pigs, and a few deer when using the ghillie.

Wound up being 21 with that same head. 19 with that same head before the arrow broke, and the head bent. Straightened up the head, put it on another arrow, and shot two more pigs with it before retiring it.

When my nephew came home after his first tour in Bagdad (Sadr City), I was looking at some pictures and asked if I could buy one like it. He told me no, but we could make me one. Long story short, I could tell about half way in, this thing was gonna weigh more than a 60 year old ME would want. So I bought a couple of cheapies off the internet and fixed them up. I have a brown one and a green one. Have only used them for shotgun hunting so far. I do have a green "Leafy" suit I use quite a bit in archery season.
